Why choose Moje Szachy?

Material

I make my chess sets from the highest quality, selected wood: linden, oak, sycamore, or cherry, which has been prepared for this purpose for a long time.

Attention to detail

Each piece is handcrafted by me, and I personally guarantee its quality. Each finished pawn is protected by staining or varnishing.

Weighting

Each figure and pawn is weighted, making them stable regardless of their height and ensuring comfortable gameplay.

Felt padding

Each piece is padded with felt to prevent damage to the board and to quiet the movement of the pieces.

Chessboard

Most of the boards offered are foldable and closable. Inside each board, there is a felt insert that allows for organizing the pieces and prevents them from getting lost or damaged.

Packaging

You receive your chess set in an aesthetic cardboard package, making it a perfect, ready-made gift. If you wish, I can include your greetings or write a dedication inside the box.

How is Moje Szachy created?

To create unique chess sets, they must undergo a series of treatments, travel hundreds of kilometers, and be soaked and seasoned for many hours so the wood can dry sufficiently.

1. Dry pieces of wood are cut into square timbers and then pre-turned.

2. Using chisels, I manually give the chess pieces their elaborate shapes.

3. Figures and pawns are hand-sanded to give them their final form.

4. At this stage, the carved figures must dry in an airy place.

5. The chess sets are varnished or stained, then weighted and padded with felt.

6. Only at this stage do the finished chess sets reach your hands.
